Host onboarding — create an event & booths
Step-by-step guide for organizers (for example a cultural centre) who want to publish an event, add booths, and open queues in the Bron app.
Use this checklist first; open the linked pages when you need more detail.
Before you start
- Install Bron and sign in (see Getting started in the sidebar).
- Confirm you can host:
- Personal — your level is 2 or higher
- Business — you are Owner or Manager of the business
- Group — you are Owner or Manager of the group
- To use booths / zones / area map as a personal host, you need level 5+. Business hosts can use booths with Owner/Manager rights.
Checklist (typical cultural-centre flow)
| Step | What to do | Details |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Create a Public event with Booths on | Create and host |
| 2 | Open Manage on the event | Same page → Manage hub |
| 3 | Add zones (optional, e.g. Hall A / Food) | Booths, zones, queues |
| 4 | Add booths (link merchants). Keep Queue open Off unless you are piloting | Same · Festival queue pilot |
| 5 | Upload an area map (optional) | Same |
| 6 | Turn Attendee recruitment On | Create and host |
| 7 | Guests join the event; Queue only on booths you opened | Booths, zones, queues |
Busy festivals (optional Queue)
For cultural-centre festivals where the floor is hectic: treat Queue as optional. Start with one pilot booth + Join QR. Full checklist: Festival queue pilot.
Dashboard (optional)
Business staff can also create and manage events in the Bron Dashboard under Business → Events.
From the events list you can open this documentation site: docs.bron.events.
Queue Join QR for an open booth: Dashboard → event → Business booths → select booth.
Tips
- Prefer Public + recruitment On so guests find the event in the app.
- Turn Require approval on only if staff must approve each join.
- Queue open defaults to Off — turn On only when staff are ready to call guests (often one booth first).
- Hold (no-show) entries can auto-cancel after a timeout you set per queue activity (default 5 minutes).
