Booths, zones, and queues

How hosts set up booths and queues, and how guests use them during an event.
Full organizer checklist: Host onboarding.

For hosts

1. Enable booths

  1. Open your event → Manage.
  2. Turn Booths On (or enable booths when creating the event).

2. Zones (optional)

  1. In Manage, open Zones.
  2. Add zone names (and colours), for example Hall A or Food court.
  3. Zones group booths on the event detail page.

3. Add booths

  1. In Manage, open Booths.
  2. Search for a merchant / business and add it as a booth.
  3. Open the booth to set:
    • Label, photo, description
    • Zone
    • Queue open — defaults Off. Turn On only when guests should see the Queue button (optional; see Festival queue pilot)

4. Area map (optional)

  1. In Manage, open Area map.
  2. Upload a floor-plan image.
  3. Draw or link regions to booths so guests can find them on the map.
tip

Guest map tap → booth is richest on iOS. Android still shows the map and booth list.

5. Queue activities (staff)

On the merchant / booth screen for that event, staff can:

  • Define entry activities (what guests queue for)
  • Set hold auto-cancel time per activity (default 5 minutes)
  • Run the host queue board: call next, serve, hold, cancel

6. Queue Join QR (Dashboard)

When a booth’s Queue open is On, Dashboard → event → Business booths → that booth shows a Queue Join QR. Guests scan it to join that booth’s queue (web deep link → Bron app). Useful for a single pilot booth at a busy festival.

For guests

  1. Open a Public event (Events tab, Home, or a shared link). Join the event if recruitment is open.
  2. On event detail, open Booths (use zone tabs if present), or the Area map.
  3. Tap Queue on a booth.
  4. Choose an activity and Join the queue (queue must be open).
  5. Wait to be called. Track status under Profile → My Queue (or the merchant “my queues” view).
